  • Please refer to descriptions of classes to assure that you are attending the class that is best suited for your abilities, as I offer a range of class levels.
  • Classes ALWAYS begin and end at the designated time (unless otherwise stated)
  • It is best if you can arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of class, to find your spot, and settle in, so that others are not disturbed or distracted by your late arrival. Some centers disallow late arrivals.
  • We begin each class with Breathing and Centering and end each class with relaxation/meditation. These times are silent, and without interruptions.
  • If you attend a class that requires a mat, please bring your own if possible. There are usually some extras at senior centers should you forget, or have not purchased one yet.

“Yoga has helped me relax and loosen up some muscles. I have an increase in balance, strength and improved posture since taking yoga.”

February 2, 2016

"I am a relatively new face in the retirement community and at the Senior Center. Signing up for “chair yoga” seemed like an easy transition into my new life’s phase. I was hooked from my first class with Katie Cohen. Katie presents a relaxed format that caters to seniors that are both youngsters and oldsters. She offers multiple ways of stretching for those who are able, and for those who are physically challenged. Teaching classes with such diversity is not an easy task, but Katie makes everyone feel comfortable with her affable style. Class participants emerge from her sessions standing taller, feeling calmer, and more focused."
